Program Overview：

“Challenges and opportunities of community in the context of health: designing a product-service system that adapts to the integration of sports, medical treatments, elderly care, care, and rehabilitation (SMECR).”In the context of "Healthy China 2030" and the proactive health management which were proposed by the government of China, the community plays a crucial role in achieving the whole-population life-cycle health intervention. The Chinese government issued the Guidelines for the “Planning of 15-Minute Community Living Circles”, which made a preliminary plan for community medical and health services. In the next step of implementation, we need to search and link health resources in the region. Public organizations, local governments, universities, enterprises, NGOs, citizens and civic organizations can all participate in the co-creation of community health services. This project will explore the design of a product-service system suitable for the integration of SMECR, and further integrate the health system into the layout of the 15-minute life circle planning.

This Innovative Practice Summer Camp is supported by rich experience of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in international education. Shang Jiao Tong University owns a group of educational professionals with diversified knowledge backgrounds. An International Industrial Design Engineering program (IIDE) held by Shanghai Jiao Tong University has been supported by this group of educational professionals as well. A brand-new mode of workshop that involved online and offline works will be practiced within one month.

Highlights：

Different from the traditional mode of teaching, the Innovative Practice Summer Camp offers chances for practicing innovative design thinking and practical skills. Students will be able to collaborate with partners from other disciplines and countries, as well as industry professionals. Under the guidance of Chinese and foreign experts in various disciplines, students will develop innovative solutions for real-life problems.

Week 1: Program launching and camp opening, group forming, Ice-breaking activities, Lectures.

Week 2: Community field research, Forming concepts.

Week 3: Ideating and brainstorming, Refining concepts.

Week 4: Model making, Professional guidance, Developing or reforming concepts. 

July 17, 2022, Exhibition of the design outcomes, Closing ceremony.

Eligibility：

We plan to recruit 30 offline students. Students in industrial design, electronic information, software engineering, medicine, mechanical engineering, engineering psychology and other disciplines are preferred.
