Project Profile
The winning entry fully utilized traditional Chinese cultural elements in its packaging design, with a unique flat gourd bottle design. The gourd has a natural beauty, and its shape symbolizes tolerance, which also reflects the Chinese cultural tradition of “harmony”. In Chinese mythology, the gourd has magical powers and is often used to hold the elixir of immortality, and is hung in homes to maintain peace of mind. At the same time, the gourd, serving as a cultural symbol, also carries the positive connotation of “good fortune and prosperity”. The unique patches on both sides of the gourd bottle are shaped like jade, radiating oriental charm. The grain pattern symbolizes an abundance of grains, and at the same time, provides for a secure grip when pouring wine. The dark green color—like that of a swimming dragon—and the gold color of the bottle reflect each other, making the overall color of the product packaging subtle and introverted, just like the warm gold and jade, implying the virtue of modesty and the subtlety of Chinese culture. In the product packaging design, the different colors of the bottle’s silicone patches serve as a carrier, corresponding to different product sequences, so that the overall product design presents a coherent aesthetic. From the point of view of cost control, this also aligns with the principles of environmental protection and sustainable development.Team Introduction

The Chinese Character Lab is a design practice targeting children aged 3-6 in the critical period of whole-brain development, oriented to developing children's multiple intelligences, and based on the technology of AR foundation. This program breaks the current limitations, singularity and fragmentation of children's Chinese character literacy, which can promote the development of comprehensive quality and creative thinking, and also help children face Chinese character learning with an open mind, which is a key that can unlock the all-round potential of young children. Through research on children's cognitive and motor interaction development laws, and combined with the splitting and combining of the characteristics of Chinese characters' root radicals and graphemes, we have found the fit between children's cognitive development and literacy methods, and designed a set of appropriate Chinese character formulas.
The root character literacy method and the form of AR lab games are of great innovative significance for children's thinking development. The Chinese character laboratory with the word root literacy method is designed with full consideration of children's uniqueness in social cognition, and will utilize children's curiosity to introduce the concept of the laboratory, the experiment that is the game; and strings together commonly used characters in the form of Chinese character mapping, from fragmentation to systematization. Meanwhile, the AR interactive game for children features vivid and interesting virtual Chinese character models, physical Chinese character cards, the unique interactive, immersive, and imaginative features of AR technology, and the use of computer technology to realize interaction, which is in line with the characteristics of children's figurative thinking.
In addition, the work won the second prize of the main track of the 6th China University Computer Competition - Mobile Application Innovation.

「Chinese Character Repairer」 is a word finding and puzzle solving game. Chinese characters are different from other characters in that they are made up of countless root words, and most people learning Chinese today do not know how to memorize Chinese characters in a regular way. This game adopts the method of searching for the roots of characters and putting them together to form combinations of characters, which is a clearer and more interesting way of conveying the rules of Chinese character development and Chinese culture to players than other Chinese character games that are similar in kind.
The entry won the highest prize, the "Most Innovative Award", and the first prize of the 8th China University Computer Competition - Mobile Application Innovation Competition, as well as the "China Game Innovation Competition - Social Innovation Value Award".
