School of Design Successfully held 2021 FutureLab Art and Design Education Exhibition


The 3rd edition of FutureLab run from November 28 to December 5, 2021 at West Bund Dome, Shanghai with several sections, including College Show, “Ambition!” Degree Show, Deans’ Talk, Themed Forum and Workshops. Not only displays the unique and innovative teaching scene, FutureLab also provides audience with opportunities to communicate directly with the professors and students of worldwide prestigious universities.

Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s exhibition area is curated by Dr. WEN Xiaojing, assistant professor of Design. With the theme of “FourC Challenge 24 Hours Design Challenge”, the exhibition showcased the outcomes of the previous two global design competitions. Through multidisciplinary cooperation and intercultural exchange, the student’s design expresses their thinking, perception and practice of a community with a shared future for mankind under the post-pandemic background.

Other events organized by School of Design including Forum on Models of Innovative Collaboration between Industry and Academia also attract much attention from the visitors. It is indeed another new attempt and breakthrough by the School in terms of design education in the new era.

Art and Design Education: FutureLab first founded in 2019, brings together the world's outstanding art and design colleges and universities, focusing on the innovative practices and latest challenges of today’s education. It advocates to create an international exchange platform for teachers, students, scholars and institutions in the field of art and design.
