On the afternoon of March 27, 2019, Mr. Vassilis Xiros, Consul General of the Republic of Greece in Shanghai, was invited to visit the School of Design of Shanghai JiaoTong University. Professor Che Shengquan, Deputy Dean of the School of Design, and Du Shuai, Director of the International Cooperation Office of the School of Design, attended the meeting.

CHE Shengquan extended a warm welcome to Mr. Vassilis Xiros's visit, he briefly introduced the situation of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, as well as the status of the School of Design and its future development plan. He detailed the International Masters Program of the School of Design, established the China-Central and Eastern Europe Innovation Design Alliance initiative and promoted progress.

Mr. Vassilis Xiros expressed his enthusiasm for entrepreneurship since the founding of the School of Design and praised the design institute's diversified professional system that combines architecture, landscape architecture and art design. He introduced the famous National University of Athens and the other universities in Greece that offers architecture, art and design related majors.

The two sides stated that they will promote the interaction and exchange between the design disciplines of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the relevant disciplines of Greek universities, strengthen exchanges of teachers and students like wise.

The visit of Mr. Vassilis Xiros, Consul General of the Republic of Greece in Shanghai, aims to promote mutual understanding between Greek universities and the School of Design of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and lay the foundation for further cooperation between the two sides. The Greek consulate said that he will promote the cooperation process between Greek universities and the School of Design of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
