 New South Wales University Visits the School of Design

On May 24, 2019, assistant to the president of the University of New South Wales Laurie Pearcey visted the Shanghai School of Design, together with head of the department of interior design Lisa Zamberlan and vice dean of the department of artistic design Vaughan Rees. Design school professors Liu Jie, Wen Xiaojing, and head of international programs Du Shuai greeted them and hosted a discussion session.

 

       

Professor Liu Jie gave a warm welcome to the representatives of the departments of architecture, environment, and artistic design. Then Du Shuai described the background of the school of design. And Wen Xiaojing described the academic characteristics of the various departments.

Next, both sides discussed the advancement of exchange programs for architectural undergraduate and masters students. They also agreed to quickly prepare application materials for such programs, to decide on admitted students, and to properly guide such students in future steps.

The representatives from New South Wales expressed their interest to provide more support in the promotion of such exchange programs, in the explanation of related policies, and in the application process. Members of the design school also agreed to choose excellent students to take part in such exchanges, and both sides agreed to deepen cooperation on academic research, and to complete the selection of qualifies faculty members to take part in such programs as well.
