Xiaomin Tang, Professor
Professor Tang holds a master degree in landscape architecture, and a doctor degree environment science. She has an academic interdisciplinary background of landscape architecture, urban planning and environment science. Professor Tang was a visiting scholar at Cornell University, a member of the council of Shanghai Society of Landscape Architecture, the member of American Society of Landscape Architects and a member of International Federation of Landscape Architects Asia-Pacific. Professor Tang has experience in teaching, scientific research and practice of more than 20 years in landscape architecture. She has also devoted herself to the fields of art and culture in landscape, the evaluation and planning of leisure space, the landscape planning and design of waterfront landscape, the urban renewal landscape planning and design, the environment healthy in urban public space, the evaluation and governance in urban old community public space. Moreover, Professor Tang focuses on the innovative application of theories, and explored the possibilities for integrating natural landscape, environment and ecology, arts and humanities and science technology. For her practice achievements, Professor Tang won hundredsof national and provincial planning program and hostedhundreds of planning and design programs. Professor Tang also received 30+ domestic and international awards for including 3 awards from International Federation of Landscape Architects Asia-Pacific (IFLA-APR) , and 2 awards from British Association of Landscape Industries international awards. She has published 6 books and 40 articles. Professor Tang is the chief lecturer of the courses“Landscape Art”，“Landscape Architecture Planning and Design”. She combines the education with innovation and leads many important school level and city level education reforming project, such as “Shanghai Jiao Tong University Excellent Course”, “Shanghai Core Course”, “Shanghai Jiao Tong University Excellent Course Online”, “Shanghai Ideological and Theory Excellent Course”, etc. In addition, Professor Tang has received 10 awards for guiding and cooperating with students.
