Wangyun, Chair and Professor, Ph.D. supervisor.
Professor Wang received his master degree in landscape architecture, and his doctorate degree in architecture history and theory. He has an interdisciplinary background of landscape architecture, urban planning and architecture. Professor Wang serves as the department chair of Landscape Architecture in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the institution director of Landscape Architecture in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the program head of landscape architecture, a vice chairman of Shanghai society of Landscape Architecture, an executive director of Shanghai Exploration &Design trade association, the executive director in Yuan Ming Yuan Society of China -the institution of Landscape and Ancient Building, a member of American Society of Landscape Architects, a member of International Federation of Landscape Architects Asia-Pacific. Professor Wang was the recipient of the Excellent Young Teacher Award of Universities in Shanghai, the Excellent Educator Award in the First National Master of Landscape Architecture Education Steering Committee, Outstanding Individuals in National Architecture, National Outstanding Persons of Excellence in the Investigation and Design Industries on the Occasion of the 70th Anniversary of founding of PRC.
Professor Wang has experience in teaching, scientific research and practice of more than 20 years in the fields of landscape architecture. He has also devoted himself to the fields of Shanghai parks and private gardens in modern times, the renewal landscape planning and technology in waterfront space, the concept and technology Jiangnan traditional garden landscape. Moreover, Professor Wang focues on the innovative application for the fusion of traditional and modern landscape design. He has published 4 books and 50+ academic articles, won hundresds of national and provincial planning programs, and hosted more than 200 planning and design programs. Furthermore, Professor Tang won 30+ domestic and international awards including 4 awards from International Federation of Landscape Architects Asia-Pacific (IFLA-APR) , 2 awards from British Association of Landscape Industries international awards. Professor Wang is the chief lecturer in the courses“History and Theory of Landscape Architecture”and Landscape Architecture Planning and Design”, and leads a team to construct a complex landscape architecture and innovating personnel training mode with the characteristics of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Professor Wang also received the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Outstanding Prize for Teaching Award, the Group Second Prize in Education Award, and 10 awards for guiding and cooperating with students.
