The details are as follows:

1. Research on Urban Regeneration under the People-Oriented City Concept

Urban regeneration is a major strategic choice for urban development in today’s China. It is a historical necessity for inheriting Chinese culture, a realistic urgency for meeting people’s living needs, and an innovative need for future development.

Addressing issues such as insufficient top-level design, incomplete applicable objects, insufficient preferential policies, and uncoordinated implementation mechanisms in urban regeneration. Professor Wang Lin analyzes the current state of urban regeneration, dissects the connotations and scope, and systematically builds a comprehensive urban regeneration content system based on the people-oriented city concept. Professor Wang Lin also classifies and studies the methods, policies, and mechanisms for regeneration.

2. Research on Refined Governance of Public Spaces in Historic Landscape Areas

Against the background of high-quality development and urban quality improvement in the new era in China, Professor Wang Lin addresses issues such as incomplete and unrefined design and compilation elements in the public spaces of historic landscape areas, excessive control but insufficient guidance in design schemes, inability to cope with dynamic updates, lack of connection between design guidelines and management departments and implementation subjects, and imperfect implementation mechanisms and long-term sustainability. She focuses on urban public spaces like streets and waterfronts, conducting comprehensive, multi-interface, and all-around research to establish an urban public space element system, formulate design guidelines, and propose all-element, multi-level design methods and implementation paths for refined urban governance with unified planning, coordinated implementation, and joint governance.

3. Research on the preservation and regeneration of modern industrial heritage

Professor Wang Lin presided over the completion of the national social science key project "Research on the Theory and Method of the Preservation and Utilization of Industrial Cultural Heritage in the New Era". This research report systematically sorted out the historical context and characteristics of China's modern industrial heritage from 1949 to 2000 and proposed an innovative framework and value characteristics for the value of China's modern industrial heritage.
