Dr. Lu Shaoming,

He works as a professor of architecture at School of Design, the director of the Institute of Urban Spatial Culture and Science in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the chief expert of the National Social Science Key Project (i.e. "The preservation and revitalization of memory sites in the process of urbanization in China"). He visited the Bartlett School of Architecture in University College London as a postdoctoral fellow from 2008 to 2009.

He focuses on the spatial narratives' cognition, construction and evaluation, and is also involved in design practices of the related projects, such as the existing building transformation, the urban renewal, the waterfront redevelopment and cruise ship. Particularly, he is enthusiastic about bridging the gap of the physical environment and cultural meaning with the advanced technology, such as space syntax, eye-tracing method and spatial narratives.

He is presiding over 1 Key Projects supported by the National Social Science Fund, 3 Projects supported by the National Natural Science Fund and so on. He won 1-time First Prize of Shanghai Philosophy and Social Science research outstanding achievements, and 3-time Second Prize as well. He was awarded the Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program and Shanghai excellent doctoral dissertation Prize.

He runs one course for graduate students, called Spatial Experience and Narratives, and also responsible for the programme of Urban design for the undergraduate students.

He published more than 80 academic papers.
