Xiangnan Xiong received her Ph.D. in Architectural History and Theory from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017. Before joining SJTU, she worked for two years at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in Shenzhen. Her research focuses on modern architectural history, with a particular emphasis on modernist architecture in Germany and the United States.

Research Interests

Nineteenth and twentieth century architecture and cities;

History of dwellings and living cultures;

German modernism;

Architectural representation; 

Intellectual history and architecture.
