Dongqin Tang was born in Jiangxi province, China. She was awarded Bachelor degree at Jiangxi Agricultural University in 1994, Master degree at Nanjing Forest University in 1997 dedicated in Garden Plants, and completed her PhD in Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2005. Since 1997, she has worked as lecturer and associate professor at SJTU. During Mar to Sep in 2009 and March 2016 to March 2017, she worked as a visiting scholar twice in Cornell University, USA.
Dr. Tang is a productive scientist in the area of ornamental horticulture. She has conducted many applied and basic researches on plant physiology, floriculture, bulbs crops and application of landscape plants. In recent years, she paid more attention to study the mechanism of flower color formation in bulbs. Up to date, Dr. Tang has published more than 60 peer-reviewed articles, owned 4 China national invention patents and about 10 new cultivars of bulb flowers.
