In recent years, the number of traditional villages in China has decreased sharply, and the existing villages are facing population hollowing out and economic development failure. These problems urgently need to be addressed. Under the guidance of the national strategy of "rural revitalization + cultural inheritance", since 2018, the School of Design of Shanghai Jiao Tong University has launched a series of practices of "saving traditional villages", constantly exploring new development models of traditional villages that can be promoted and adapted to local conditions, empowering their protection and development.
